Think You're The Perfect Candidate For Doing Robots That Vacuum And Mop? Answer This Question
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its low cost and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.
For instance, you could decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. Unlike last year's model it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may overlook.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean around them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
